Office Space
A new tenant in a historic building on Capitol Hill wanted a unique and suitable office space. Working with the building owner and the digital marketing company, Dyna completed a layered remodel that honored the building’s history while creating a very modern and usable space. By salvaging and repurposing materials, Dyna maximized the context of the space and also saved the client money. A cathedral ceiling and original trusses coexist with new exposed structural beams. New office doors alternate with rusty metal doors once used as a way to stop the spread of fire. A conference room with new glass and wood doors has a textured backdrop of exposed bricks. New stairs leading up to what used to be a stage combine modern-looking cable with a round pipe railing that echoes the aesthetic of an earlier time. Polycarbonate wall panels allow light to flood in through old historic window openings.
