What our Clients Think
My wife and I can’t say enough good things about Dyna. They basically rebuilt a 4800 square foot home for us in 2013. We could not be happier with the results, or the process.
Even with thorough advance planning, we never could have anticipated the many twists and turns that our project took. That’s just the nature of the beast. It will happen to you too. We have no doubt that we needed the premium skills, experience, professionalism and customer service that only a select few top-tier contractors like Dyna can deliver.
Before the project started, we were very impressed by the vision and insight that Dyna provided. They also referred us to an outstanding and reasonable architect that was invaluable to the project. Dyna partnered extremely well with her from start to finish.
But it was everything that came after the plans were finalized that proved to us that Dyna was the right choice. Yes, you can find contractors who will bid the project for less. We did that dance and thankfully went with Dyna. You’re not going to find anyone who can navigate through and around the most difficult, and multiple, challenges that will invariably arise after the project begins — even with the best of planning.
You’re also not going to find a more skilled or creative metal shop. Dyna has a staff of metal artisans that you can’t find anywhere else in town. Dyna literally invented some of coolest metal creations for our house, stuff they had never done before.
Dyna also cares deeply about keeping costs controlled, and staying on or under budget. Our project manager (Gus Poole) proactively kept us informed of every dime we were spending, and where it was going, and why. He was always seeking creative ways to save money without compromising quality.
Finally, Dyna’s customer service did not end after we moved in. For as big of a job as the one we had, there will invariably be kinks to work out, and issues will come up. Here again, Dyna’s two-year warranty, backed by stellar responsiveness, has been a huge asset. When we call with an issue or question, we get a same day response, and follow-up to ensure that the issued is resolved to our satisfaction.
Overall, A++. Very impressive.
I’ve been very happy with the Dyna team and the work they did for me. From the very start when I reviewed the depth and clarity of their bid, I knew that they were different from the other general contractors I had worked with. Over time that impression has only grown. I’ve always felt that they were a true partner in the building and remodeling process. They brought not only their skills but their creativity to bear, presenting me with options and solutions that wouldn’t have come about otherwise. They were always looking out for my best interests and kept me fully informed with respect to schedule and budget. When some things went wrong as they always do, I found out directly from them. And when it was their fault, they made it right. I’ve already recommended them to several friends and would be happy to use them again on any future projects I might have.
The Dyna team did an outstanding job remodeling/rebuilding our house. We appreciated their creative ideas, careful craftsmanship, and enthusiasm for the project. Casey was an excellent project manager – together with Gus and Ren – he kept the project moving forward, fixed problems when they arose, and made sure the house was clean and safe when they left for the day or weekend (which we always appreciated when we came over to check on the progress).
We used Dyna for our condominium remodel. I can’t say enough about what a great job they did and how pleased we are with the results. We hired them on the advice of our incredible architect, Cheryl Hughes of Hughes Studio, based on her previous work with the Dyna. We knew Cheryl only worked with the best, and that she highly valued a contractor who completed projects ON TIME and ON BUDGET. That’s exactly what we got.
We bought our condo in May and construction started in June. We totally gutted the interior of the unit and started over. We are talking floors, walls, kitchen, 2 baths, removal of a bedroom, rerouting the ceiling fire extinguishers, creation of a pantry, built-ins, new closets, etc. There were many challenges, not the least of which the unit is on the 21st floor, the building has tough construction requirements regarding noise, and there was a lot to do.
Dyna was more than up for the task. Our project manager, Gus Poole, was on site regularly, updating us with progress, needed changes, and solutions almost every day. Leo, our on site person, did a lot of the work and oversaw the sub contractors. His skills are incredible, and all the detail work of the unit was done beautifully. We had a few unexpected things happen that were out of our control, but Dyna stepped in and offered excellent solutions. The project never stalled. We moved in 2 days after the projected completion date and have a punch list of only 2-3 small items. We even came in a little under budget.
I would recommend Dyna to any and everyone. Their are ethical, polite, collaborative, honest, excellent at what they do, and fun to work with. We are pretty tough people to please, and they exceeded our expectations.”
We hired Dyna to remodel our house – Master bath, bedroom, Kitchen, guest/kids bath and two other bedrooms. They were thorough and thoughtful about the approach and the design. We had a fairly short time frame to get everything done and they did it with style. They had the best communication through the entire project and clearly outlined trade offs and costs. In the end, we finished on time and, minus a few changes and additions, came in on budget. Remodeling was a very enjoyable and fun experience with Dyna and Paul Whitney as our architect.
We are more than happy with the results of our 2/3 tear down and rebuild of our house, which Dyna worked on. We looked at a few other contractors, but at the end of the day it was Dyna that we felt would do the best work and would get the job done on schedule. They kept us informed and on task throughout the project, and my wife and I can ask a lot of questions. They always quickly and accurately gave us whatever info we needed from what kind of building materials they were using to what suppliers we should look at.
Our project included tearing down 2/3 of our house, down to the sub floor and bumping out the front and back of the house and adding a second floor above our garage to give us a master suite. But the important part was how detailed oriented they were through the process and making sure we were happy with the results. From the trim on the windows to the layout of the kitchen, Dyna made their expertise available to us and guided us to a beautiful home. We have now lived in it for a few months and could not be happier. And they are still available if we have questions or need any follow up. I would fully recommend the team at Dyna.
As a developer, I tend to see things in terms of their potential. It’s nice when a builder like Dyna comes along who really knows how to maximize the value of a home. In bringing a vision to reality, Dyna seems to know exactly what is required to create a cohesive and functional living space of clean lines, unique materials and simple elegance.”
Even though we bought our home after it was already finished, it was as if we had been involved with Dyna in the building process. The home is very smartly designed and seems to anticipate our every need and how we live. Finally, the finish work and details are incredible.
Dyna so far exceeded my expectations of what a contractor should be. When we hired them to do our second story addition, they were at the job site every day. They handled problems without bogging me down, but when they needed a decision from me they got me involved. When I had ideas that might not work, they guided me to realistic solutions. We got value for every dollar we spent and the finished product is extraordinary.
People told us that building in the San Juan Islands could be a nightmare. However, even with unreliable ferry service and an extra-long outage that caused other projects on Guemes Island to come to a standstill, Dyna still finished our house on schedule. Throughout the job, they established and maintained excellent relations with our neighbors in the small island community. They also paid particular attention to preserving the existing trees on our site and educated us about a variety of environmentally sustainable materials that we subsequently used in the house. As both the architect and client on the project, I felt their work was of such a high caliber that I have since hired them to work on my own home in Seattle.
