Mallard Cove Modern

This floating home on Seattle's Lake Union is a masterful blend of engineering and design. Built on a new concrete float, the 2,892-square-foot residence replaces an aging houseboat, providing a robust structure capable of supporting its 150,000-pound weight. The home maximizes its lakeside location with expansive views and seamless indoor-outdoor living, featuring floor-to-ceiling Fleetwood sliding doors and an automated glass roof hatch for natural light. The interior embodies Scandinavian minimalism, with natural oak finishes, durable yet stylish furnishings, and a sophisticated blend of materials. Thoughtful engineering includes innovative structural details, built-in privacy features, a large-format porcelain tile fireplace, and a striking white powder-coated steel staircase. This residence epitomizes modern precision and sustainable lakeside living.
