Pura Vida

Inspired by the Costa Rican philosophy of Pura Vida—celebrating simple pleasures and a relaxed pace of life—this floating home on Portage Bay offers a dynamic connection to nature and the ever-changing waters. The design is flexible and responsive, allowing the home to adapt to both environmental and social conditions. A glass-walled pavilion facing the lake can open on three sides for unobstructed access or close off with solar shades for privacy and seclusion. The two-story structure features a private, sheltered area with access to a rooftop deck perfect for gatherings, all while maximizing expansive lake views and fostering a tranquil, intimate living experience.
