Refined Bungalow

What began as a simple kitchen update and deck replacement of a 1920s Craftsman bungalow in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood, evolved into a full-scale remodel that reimagined nearly every part of the home. The staircase was relocated to the center of the home, which improved the overall flow and allowed for a more cohesive and functional kitchen layout. A new Fleetwood sliding door opened the kitchen to an expanded covered deck, now a versatile outdoor living area with a gas fireplace, built-in heaters, and spaces for both dining and lounging. The main floor saw subtle shifts to improve flow, including a redefined entryway, built-ins, and a modernized living room layout. The dining room was updated with custom built-ins and a bar featuring an antique glass backsplash. The basement was also transformed into a functional living area with two bedrooms, a media room, and a home gym. The exterior was updated with new siding, windows, and reconfigured gables, preserving the bungalow’s street-facing charm.
