When a landlocked parcel behind their home became available, the clients saw the potential to create a modern interpretation of a Quincho — the traditional Argentine outdoor kitchen and entertainment space. The 914-square-foot structure serves as a lively center for cooking, hosting, and family gatherings. The Quincho features both an indoor kitchen and dining area, as well as an outdoor BBQ and Argentinian grill, with a fire pit, swim spa, and lawn extending the living space outdoors. Built for durability and minimal upkeep, the exterior is clad in metal and cement panels, and the interior boasts low-maintenance materials like Dekton countertops and a hard-troweled concrete floor. Two large Fleetwood sliding glass doors open from the corner of the dining room to invite sunlight and fresh air from two directions. The design also prioritizes ease of use and fun, with thoughtful features like a hidden coffee station and a custom steel ladder that provides access to a flexible loft space.
